Prostitution: Setting the Green Standard in Germany…

I read an article on msnbc.com about prostitution in Berlin, Germany.  It was not the usual prostitute-related news story.  You know; I was expecting some celebrity/hooker story or maybe a prostitute got on German Jeopardy and won.  Not the case, but I was pleasantly surprised.  This article was deep, and it made me think: Have I done anything Green today?

The short answer is, no.  I drove the half-mile to work this morning, left all of the lights on in my apartment and took the elevator to the second floor of the office.  But once I read this article about a brothel in Berlin trying to increase business through environmentally friendly avenues, I decided to get involved.  The owner of one brothel in the eastern part of the city has implemented a new discount to customers arriving via bicycle or public transportation.  If you produce a bus pass, train ticket or a bicycle padlock at the counter, a 5 Euro discount will be applied to your purchase.  This is what we need to save the economy, and the world!  Start the commerce engine back up, rev it up to 8,000 rpm’s and don’t worry about the emissions because we are Green now.  It’s genius.
